Moscow Penthouse

Russia 2008

Designed for the top floors of a recently completed tower, this penthouse offers spectacular views over Moscow. Emphasizing the exceptional 360-degree panorama, it concentrates on bringing contrast and variation to the generic floors of the skyscraper. The main floor is defined by white vaults, which produce both grand spaces and smaller, intimate rooms, all within the same architectural language. The vaulted surfaces capture the light and produce an ever changing variation of nuances, from the cool hues in the early morning, to the more saturated warmth of the sunset. The white and abstract spaces offer an understated luxury.

The top floor is taken up by a spa area floating in the centre of an infinity pool. A large section of the roof can be retracted to connect with the elements and temporarily break out of the tower’s sealed-off air-conditioned environment. Hidden between the main and the top floor, are the private spaces of the main bedroom suite and a secret garden, providing the client with an escape from his intense social life.

Moscow Penthouse was designed by Charles bessard & Nanne de Ru (Powerhouse Company NL)
